A level 1 Home Care Package is designed for people who have very basic care needs. A lot of our level 1 clients were receiving HACC or CHSP services and have recently moved on to the Home Care Package system. To help with this transition, we're often able to reduce or waive the Basic Daily Fee which means you pay less to receive your Home Care Package services.
William has lived in his house for 50 years. He lives alone and has a good network of friends who he likes to socialise with. At 73 years old, he's fiercely independent and had been receiving 2 hours of domestic assistance every week from his local council before his ACAT assessment. Twice a year William also has 2 hours of garden maintenance to keep his backyard free of hazards.
We're able to waive William's Basic Daily Fee, which means he is saving $10.32 every day. His level 1 Home Care Package means the government contributes $22.66 per day towards his services.
If William ever decides to change service providers, we won't charge him an Exit Fee. This is just one of the ways we support consumer choice.
