Positive Behaviour Support

Positive Behaviour Support focuses on providing people of all ages, their families and their support networks with the tools and strategies they need to assist them to live their best lives.

At HenderCare, our Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Practitioners work with you and your support network. Through this process we’ll identify and set goals that relate to behavioural change.

In conducting Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBA), our practitioners are able to better understand who you are, your strengths and skills, and why you are engaging in behaviours of concern.  This information, and functional analysis, then helps to inform skill-building strategies for you to build on and to guide the development of proactive and preventative strategies which can be implemented to reduce behaviours of concern.

Liaising with other allied health professionals and external stakeholders (where appropriate), our PBS Practitioners will:

  • Developing a Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSP) involves creating comprehensive and personalised strategies tailored to meet your unique needs, preferences, and goals in order to foster positive behavior and enhance your overall well-being.
  • implement Positive Behaviour Support Plans by training parents and others involved in supporting you. This can be through either face-to-face meetings or using an online platform.
  • monitor Positive Behaviour Support Plans through working together with those implementing the PBSP to identify what is working well for you and any changes that may need to be made.

Supported by a skilled, multi-disciplinary allied health team, HenderCare’s PBS Practitioners are able to support you and your support network as you navigate this service.
