15 Years of Care

HenderCare started on Jan 27 2004, with just one employee. Since those early days, we have grown to be a national organisation, employing 1,500 people and providing services to 41,000 clients.

While most of us will be taking a break and tucking into the turkey and mince pies over Christmas, thousands of Australians will be working throughout the holidays including an army of carers providing vital support to people at a time when it’s most needed.

The Government has recently announced a $287 million investment to release additional high level home care packages in 2018-19. 

A Home Care Package is an individual subsidy provided by the Australian Government to help older people continue living independently in their home. There are four different levels of packages and associated funding ranging from basic care needs to high level care needs.

The My Aged Care Portal helps you find out about the types of aged care services available, your eligibility for services, service providers in your area, costs and more. It’s a service provided by the Australian Government which you can access after contacting the My Aged Care contact centre.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) has created a huge change in the way Australians with disabilities access care and support services. The NDIS provides people with a permanent and significant disability under 65 years access to support services that help them take part in everyday activities and achieve their goals.
