National Redress Scheme

The HenderCare Group has joined the National Redress Scheme to acknowledge and support people who have experienced institutional child sexual abuse.

The Redress Scheme was established in 2018 in response to the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse and does the following:

  • acknowledges that many children were sexually abused in Australian institutions
  • holds institutions accountable for this abuse, and
  • helps people who have experienced institutional child sexual abuse gain access to counselling, a direct personal response, and a Redress payment

As a community care provider, we believe it critically important to endorse the Scheme and are committed to supporting those who have experienced abuse; if there are people who were abused whilst in the care of the HenderCare Group, they can now apply for Redress. Applications for Redress can be made any time before 30 June 2027.
