Module 3: Supporting Cultural Connections
This training helps care workers understand and develop skills to work effectively with children and young people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander.
The topics covered in this module are:
understanding historical practices, intergenerational trauma, power imbalances, and experiences of racism and discrimination
how the Aboriginal Placement Principles relate to practice
how to demonstrate cultural sensitivity and diversity
developing strategies and tools to support cultural connections of children and young people in care
Course Delivery and Assessment Requirements
This course consists of completing an online course through Your Mob, watching a presentation video and completing an online assessment activity.
