VHC & DVA Household Services
As a contracted Department of Veterans’ Affairs services provider, HenderCare is proud of the veterans’ home care services we provide to the veteran community in Australia. Veterans in-home care is designed to offer essential, practical support to people who need help in their own homes.
Domestic Assistance Services
HenderCare provides domestic assistance services to veterans who need veterans home care support. These veterans home care services include helping with household cleaning, laundry needs, vacuuming and sweeping floors, bed linen changing, dusting, mopping, and shopping. The laundry assistance includes clothes washing and ironing as part of our broader veterans home care offering.
Personal Care Services
As part of the HenderCare home care program in Australia, we provide personal care services to veterans. These are designed to help senior veterans who need assistance with their daily living activities. We help them bathe, dress, eat, and with other daily functions. We visit veterans who need our help and provide personal care in their own homes. Our personal care services are offered for up to 1.5 hours per week.
Home and Garden Maintenance
We work to minimise environmental health and safety hazards by offering home and garden maintenance services to keep veterans’ houses safe and secure, and reduce the chance of them sustaining injuries. This is because some incidents may occur in and around their home if not maintained. Home maintenance services from HenderCare include gutter cleaning, window cleaning, and cleaning ceiling fans. We also perform minor maintenance and repair work in gardens.
Respite Care Services
HenderCare also provides respite care services as part of our veterans’ home care program. This is where we offer short-term relief for primary caregivers. Carers need some time to relax or recover, so the respite care service can be arranged for any length of time. Speak to our team to learn more.
Are You Eligible for Support?
To find out if you’re eligible for support as a veteran, take an assessment with your local Veterans’ Home Care Assessment Agency. If you’re a veteran or war widow, you will be eligible for the assessment of all VHC services. After you pass your assessment, the VHC agency will request that we arrange a meeting for assessment completion at a time that suits you. This is when we will begin to deliver your approved Australian VHC service.
