HenderCare Foundation is a leading not-for-profit organisation that provides contracted out of home care services for children and young people in South Australia.  Employing over 300 care workers throughout South Australia, the Foundation team is always conscious of their responsibility to provide the highest standards of care to vulnerable young people.  Providing enhanced models of out of home care offers the opportunity to support a group of young South Australians in need of a quality alternative care environment.

Reporting directly to the CEO and partnering with the senior leadership team, this pivotal role will identify opportunities to develop out of home care models for the Foundation that provide a superior service offering to children.  Essential to the successful implementation of these service models will be the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and engage with a range of stakeholders on scoping strategies through to implementation, while ensuring that legislative and Department for Child Protection requirements are met.  Ongoing review and improvement of service models will also be a key focus as will be writing policy and tendering for new contracts.

Applications are encouraged from appropriately qualified professionals with a child protection background and demonstrated experience working in out of home care.  A comprehensive knowledge of the child protection system together with specific experience in developing out of home care models are essential requirements.  High levels of energy, enthusiasm, initiative, self-confidence, ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and stakeholder management capacity are all necessary qualities sought.

In order to attract the best candidate, this position may be offered on either a 12-month contract or ongoing and permanent basis.  This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to identify and implement improved care services for vulnerable children and young people in child protection.
