Your NDIS plan is made up of three key areas: Core Support, Capital Support and Capacity Building. All of your NDIS funds are designed to help you reach your goals.
When you get your NDIS plan, your funds may be allocated across these three key areas. Some people do not need particular categories of support, so don't worry if you don't have all three categories in your plan.
Core Supports are to help you with day-to-day activities.
Funds you receive under Core Support are flexible, which means you can use them across these four categories:
Funds under Capital Support can be used for:
Assistive technology includes equipment to help with your mobility, personal care, communication and recreation inclusion. For example, modifications to your car.
These funds aren't flexible, which means you have to use them for the stated purpose. For example, a ramp in your house, or buying a wheelchair.
Capacity Building funds are to help you develop the skills you need to live your life the way you want. This might include social participation, further education, learning new things, and finding work.
