Dietitians Week 2022

  • 1 min

Today marks the start of Dietitians Week here in Australia.

It is an opportunity to recognise, thank and celebrate the amazing dietitians we have around the country, educating us on the importance of nutrition and a healthy lifestyle to improve our overall wellbeing.

Here at HenderCare, we are lucky to have dietitians that are dedicated to this message and working with a range of service recipients to help improve their lives.

We recently spoke with HenderCare dietitian, Natalie, on her role and the importance of working with each service recipient in an individualised approach to get the best results for them.

“Being a Dietitian is a challenging and fulfilling role.

We have the privilege of engaging with people from diverse walks of life and promoting wellbeing through nutrition while also supporting people to have a positive relationship with food and their body.

This looks different for everyone, and our role is to make sure the nutrition advice we provide is individualised to you, your body and your environment.

We can help with simple changes, like eating more veggies or getting in enough protein through the day, as well as more complex challenges, like managing a feeding tube or working through an eating disorder.

The ways that #DietitiansImproveLives are as diverse as the community we serve, and we encourage you to reach out to see if we can help you.”
