Meet the Team: Angela Mulqueeney

  • 2 mins

Starting in May 2018 as the State Manager for Victoria and Tasmania, Angela Mulqueeney’s resilience has served her well over the past 12 months! Faced with a state in lock-down, Angela has been an amazing leader to her local team, field workers and a reliable, caring figure for her service recipients.
What is your role at HenderCare, Ange?
As State Manager, I am responsible for managing the Victorian operations for HenderCare, which encompasses Disability Support, Home Care Packages, Commonwealth Home Support Program, Veterans Home Care, and various Local Council contracts.
Why do you love your job?
What I love about my role is the diversity it brings with managing different sectors within aged care and disability, enabling clients to reach their goals and live independently at home. I work with a fantastic Melbourne office team, an incredible team of 160+ field staff, and we are supported by the wider HenderCare family nationally.
What has 2020 been like for you in Victoria?
2020 has proven to be a challenging year, especially for the Victorian office. The lockdown has been in place for over 100 days and during this time, both the internal staff and field staff have shown adversity and resilience in overcoming the various challenges that we have faced.
With limited access to family support networks, our staff have ensured that clients were well-supported and had access to basic necessities throughout the pandemic.
Whilst we are still in lockdown, we are looking forward to getting back into the office and back to normality as soon as possible.
We are thankful that we have had so much support from the wider HenderCare family, including IT for getting us set up at home, all those that have packed and posted PPE, phone support and encouragement from the Management Team.
