Welcoming you on board

When you join the HenderCare team, we take you through a thorough induction process. We introduce you to our policies, procedures and codes of practice. This helps you understand how we work, and gives you the opportunity to ask questions along the way.

Professional development

We’re committed to supporting our staff by giving them opportunities for professional development.

For our nursing and allied health staff, this means helping them meet their AHPRA registration requirement of continuing professional development each year. We provide fully-funded mandatory competency training for our nursing and allied health staff, with a range of options for completion, including through a newly-developed online training platform.

Each year our team attend mandatory competency training sessions. Some of the professional development opportunities on offer throughout the year are:

  • manual handling tasks
  • medication management including drug calculations
  • infection control
  • work health and safety
  • emergency safety procedures
  • child safe environments
  • care of infants
  • Management of Actual or Potential Aggression (MAPA)
