Use your maintenance and gardening skills to make a difference in the lives of older people and those with a disability. In this flexible role, you will help maintain the homes of clients and support them in their desire to live independently at home.

About the role

As demand for HenderCare services has increased in the community, we are now in the fortunate position of being able to take on more Home and Garden Maintenance Workers to help meet this demand.

With a focus on providing home and garden services, the successful candidates will assist our customers with a combination of the following day-to-day activities depending on the customer’s unique needs:

  • cleaning gutters
  • cleaning windows
  • tidying gardens
  • mowing lawns
  • checking smoke alarms
  • high cleaning (fans, exhausts, vents)
  • changing light bulbs and tap washers
  • heavy duty/industrial cleaning

Skills and Experience

  • be personable and have a flair for working with people
  • be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills
  • possess great time management skills

The following qualifications and clearances are also required:

  • experience providing home maintenance and cleaning services
  • current National Police Clearance
  • have reliable transport
  • minimum two work-related referees
  • own basic maintenance and gardening tools
