Celebrating 14 years supporting our community

  • 3 mins

In 2004, we opened our doors in Adelaide. In the fourteen years that have passed, our team has grown across South Australia, New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia, Queensland, Tasmania and the Australian Capital Territory.

We’re taking a moment to celebrate our fourteenth birthday and acknowledge our team and the consumers, participants and referring organisations who we serve.

Anniversaries are always a great opportunity to pause and reflect on how far we’ve come. At HenderCare, we pride ourselves on the care and support we offer all of our clients.

We support patients in private and public hospitals across Australia.

We provide care and support to veterans at home.

We support people with a disability in reaching their goals under the NDIS.

We offer Home Care Packages for older Australians who need assistance to stay safely in their own homes.

Above all, we give our all for health and community care.

Reflecting on 14 years

Amanda Blight, our CEO, said that community care has changed significantly over the past 14 years. “We’ve seen a substantial shift towards consumer and participant-directed care in recent years, which puts choice and control directly with the people receiving services. This change has really highlighted how important it is to have a skilled team standing with you,” she said.

“Our growth is testament to our wonderful staff. From our managers and coordinators who oversee service delivery and match clients with HenderCare workers, to our staff who visit consumers and participants in their homes and in hospitals, we could not do it without them,” she said.

What next for HenderCare?

As the NDIS continues to roll out across Australia, we’re looking forward to supporting participants through this transition. As a Registered NDIS Provider, we work with participants to identify services that will help them meet their goals.

We’ll continue to support older Australians through the Veterans’ Home Care program, and as a registered Home Care Package provider.

Amanda Blight noted that HenderCare’s ongoing success wouldn’t be possible without the trust of participants, consumers and referring organisations. “Every time we are asked to provide care, support or services in the community or in a hospital, we are mindful of the trust that is being placed in us. And we always have – and always will – do our utmost to honour that,” she said.
