The following represents the minimum employment requirements that HenderCare expects of its nurses and support workers.

HenderCare registered and enrolled nurses must have:

• current registration with AHPRA - Nurses and Midwifery Board of Australia;
• traceable and appropriate work history;
• exemplary references;
• experience working in chosen area;
• Criminal History Record Check that results in a satisfactory offender history;
• Working With Children Check, where applicable, that results in a satisfactory offender history;
• occupational health and screening assessment that reflects fitness and capacity to carry out the duties that are required.

HenderCare specialist nurses must have:

• current registration with AHPRA - Nurses and Midwifery Board of Australia;
• appropriate post-graduate qualification;
• traceable and appropriate work history;
• exemplary references;
• experience working in chosen area;
• Criminal History Record Check that results in a satisfactory offender history;
• Working With Children Check, where applicable, that results in a satisfactory offender history;
• occupational health and screening assessment that reflects fitness and capacity to carry out the duties that are required.

HenderCare personal care attendants must have:

• Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Community Services, Disability or equivalent;
• current Apply First Aid Certificate;
• Manual Handling Certificate;
• relevant experience in chosen field of work;
• traceable and appropriate work history;
• exemplary references;
• Criminal History Record Check that results in a satisfactory offender history;
• Working With Children Check, where applicable, that results in a satisfactory offender history.

HenderCare youth and child care workers must have:

• Child Care Certificate/Diploma or a Certificate IV in Youth Work or equivalent;
• Child Safe Environment training – Mandated Notifier;
• current Apply First Aid Certificate;
• relevant experience in chosen field of work;
• experience caring for children who may present with challenging behaviours and/or experience caring for infants;
• traceable and appropriate work history;
• exemplary references;
• Criminal History Record Check that results in a satisfactory offender history;
• Working With Children Check that results in a satisfactory offender history.

HenderCare domestic assistants must have:

• Certificate II in Cleaning Operations (desirable);
• experience providing domestic assistance to aged frail and disabled persons living in the community;
• traceable appropriate work history;
• exemplary references;
• Criminal History Record Check that results in a satisfactory offender history.

HenderCare home and garden maintenance workers must have:

• handyman experience;
• experience providing home and garden maintenance to aged frail and disabled persons living in the community;
• traceable appropriate work history;
• exemplary references;
• Criminal History Record Check that results in a satisfactory offender history.

HenderCare provides its new nurses and support workers with an extensive induction to the agency. This induction incorporates the agency’s policies, procedures, protocols, standards and codes of practice.
